Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Rooots service. It is incorporated by reference into the Rooots Terms of Service. Violation of this AUP may result in account suspension or termination without refund.
1. Prohibited Activities
You agree not to use the Service to:
1.1 Illegal Activities
- Violate any local, state, federal, or international law
- Engage in fraud, identity theft, or financial crimes
- Distribute or facilitate illegal substances, weapons, or services
- Engage in tax evasion or money laundering
- Violate export control or sanctions laws
1.2 Harm to Others
- Harass, threaten, stalk, or defame any person
- Distribute hate speech, harassment, or content inciting violence
- Engage in discrimination based on protected characteristics
- Sexually exploit or endanger minors
- Engage in non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII)
1.3 Intellectual Property Violations
- Upload content that infringes copyrights, trademarks, patents, or trade secrets
- Use the Service to enable piracy or counterfeiting
- Misrepresent yourself as someone else or impersonate another business
1.4 Privacy Violations
- Upload personal data without proper consent from individuals
- Use the Service to dox, stalk, or surveil individuals
- Process special category data (health, biometric, financial) without legal basis
1.5 System Abuse
- Attempt to bypass authentication, access controls, or security mechanisms
- Probe, scan, or test for vulnerabilities without written authorization
- Send unsolicited bulk communications (spam) using Service-provided infrastructure
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Service without permission
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service or its components
1.6 Malicious Content
- Upload, transmit, or distribute viruses, malware, ransomware, or harmful code
- Conduct denial-of-service attacks
- Attempt to overload, flood, or disrupt the Service
- Phishing or social engineering attempts targeting other users
1.7 Service Misuse
- Create accounts using false information
- Share account credentials with unauthorized parties
- Use the Service in ways that exceed reasonable usage patterns
- Use the Service in any way that would damage Rooots' reputation or interests
2. Content Standards
Content you upload must:
- Be legally yours to upload, or properly licensed
- Not violate the rights of any third party
- Be accurate and not misleading
- Be appropriate for a business context
We may remove content that violates this AUP without notice.
3. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of a violation of this AUP:
- Email: support@rooots.net with subject "AUP Violation"
- Include relevant evidence (screenshots, account names, timestamps)
- We investigate all reports and take appropriate action
4. Enforcement
We reserve the right to:
- Investigate suspected violations
- Remove content that violates this AUP
- Suspend or terminate accounts immediately for violations
- Cooperate with law enforcement when required
- Pursue legal remedies for damages caused by violations
Decisions about enforcement are at our sole discretion.
5. Reporting Illegal Content
If you observe content that may be illegal (especially involving minors, threats of violence, or terrorist activity), report it immediately:
- To Rooots: support@rooots.net
- To appropriate authorities (FBI, local law enforcement)
- For child safety concerns: National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) at 1-800-843-5678
6. Updates
We may update this AUP from time to time. Continued use of the Service after updates constitutes acceptance.
